| We replaced the batteries less than a year ago, we also charge them both before we go out. The last few times we have went out the motor will turn over but does not crank. The motor is a 2 stoke and we have just replaced the plugs and we use yamalube oil. The batteries show on the gauge to have 12 volts on the gauge when I go to start it up. The only sure fire way to get it to crank right up is to have both batteries fully charged and the pump up bulb hard. Any body else had a problem like this, if so please let me know what it could be. Thanks...

If the motor is turning over too slow it will not create enough spark energy to fire the motor.
Causes... Weak starter, bad main power connection, voltage drop between batteries and engine, lanyard switch could be failing, weak batteries, etc, etc,

| Fuel Starved? try not pumping the valve and see what happens. If pumpimg the valves seems to solve the problem, pump the thing, run the motor till you run your tank runs low. Reload with new fuel and see if that helps. It fixed my situation I think it was water in the tank or bad fuel. I could get a short combustion cycle then it would just cut out. Only a thought for what might be a similar situation i had.

I agree with TMS. In addition, the electric fuel pump or the regulator may not be getting the pressure build up immediately. The fuel system may be dirty and your injectors may be giving you problems. I recommend for the non-trainned individuals to start with a compression check ( could also be an issue ), changing plugs, and running some cleaner ( ring free) through the system. If the problem persists, I recommend one of our fine technicians on the forum take a look.
