Planning on heading out there this weekend, is any body catching anything out there, if so what are the methods.  I would really like to catch a grouper where is a good spot to try for these fish. Any help would be great. Thanks

A friend of mine dove the Russian Freighter and Avocet a few days ago and saw very little.  I am sure that things change from day to day though.

I dove the freighter not a little over a week ago and there was not much on it.  There were lots of little mangroves and a few snapper here and there.  There were two large bull sharks that ran us off the wreck though.

it really depends on your range, and your tackle there is alot of good bottom within 20 miles if you have the time try to look around the trysler grounds area most of it is live bottom with alot of ledges all around. about 20 mi sw of pensacola pass put out some trolling plugs and watch you bottom machine, its just live bottom so you wont mark nothing to huge. find that, mark it drop down some big live baits and it can be worth you while.

you never know unless you go.

Hey everyone,

I am planning on taking a good friend of mine this sat (July 19th). I only have an 18' bay boat. so I never like to go very far. and the Russian is about as far as I ever go. Any ideas where/what I can put him on? he hasn't ever been out in the gulf. I always take him inshore. I haven't been out in the gulf for over a month now. So, I'm a little rusty...but it wont take long to get back into it.

Oh yea, I'm going out of Pensacola Pass FYI

Thanks for the advice everyone!
