How about 85 MPG from a modified VW chassis, fiberglass 4 seater body and a John Deere/Yanmar diesel.
At the Pirate's Cove wooden boat show, the builder, Rick Day, had his car on display. Says he can get it up to 65MPH, but mostly drives around the area and gets 85 MPG.
Since most of my driving is less than 5 miles, I been thinking. I have a John Deere/Yanmar from a tractor, 3 cylinder, 18 HP. I bet you could drop that in an older Ford Ranger or Chevy S-10 and have a small load hauler with great mileage.
I have too much on my plate as is, so can't take this on. Anyone interested call me or PM
