Took a group of customers out wed. night on there 27 sea pro CC. Arrived at the 255A a little before dark to put some AJ's in the boat. Caught a few AJ's along with some big almaco jacks before heading to petronius. Water was blue at petonius with a lot of bait. Jigged up some 8-10 pound blackfins along with the hordes of jumbo hardtails. Did not want to chunk or livebait because of the large quantities of sharks but did manage one YFT around 35-40 pounds on a jig before heading to the steps for some swordfishing and a nap. Around 1:30 the 300 foot bait got eaten and we were hooked up. We fought the fish for 30 min. before pulling the hooks. Ended up going 0-1 on swords and wrapped it up by 3:00AM. Headed back to petronius only to find a severe lack of life. Didn't waste time there and went to the marlin. Arrived just before light to find some nice YFT's busting the top. Freelined some live baits and ended up with a 50 and a 120. Fish got real finicky after the sun popped up and after several more drifts I put us on a troll towards the north. Made a pass at the beercan and caught a jumbo rainbow and a 22 pound cow dolphin. We were in the process of pulling in a small rainbow runner when a blue marlin in the 350-400 range came in on it. Knowing we stood very little chance of landing the fish on the light leader I still wanted to get a couple jumps out of her for my group so I dropped back, let her eat and came tight! Got some great jumps out of her as she charged toward another boat at the rig before chafing through the light leader. After that she charged back to our boat and circled us a couple of times while I tried to get a hardtail out. Made a couple of cuda infested attempts before calling it a day.

Total:

3 yellowfin from to 120lbs.

1 22lb. dolphin

18 blackfin, 6-15lbs.

A few jumbo rainbow runners

5 AJ's

Jumped a blue and lost a big sword
