Well I got a chance to get off of work a little early so I took it. The water was pretty rough until the sun was starting to set. I pulled up to the bridge and found a nice spot down current from the bridge, dropped anchor and set out 3 lines. Nothing was hitting on the bottom. I only had dead bait and they didn't want any of what I was throwing at them. At about 8:15 I was about to call it quits, only one small trout, a blue and a croaker on the list for today. I tied on a bass jerk bait and on the last cast of the night, Bam... Drag starts screaming toward the bridge. I cranked down the drag a bit, and after about 5 mins or so I get this little guy in. 26 1/2". For most, this is not a little guy, but for those of us who fish out here at 3 mile it is the elusive SLOT that everyone hopes for, but 90% of the time they come in over the 27" mark. Hell I sure wasn't complaining thats for sure. Once I got him in I called it a night since I have to work in the morning.

Only one other boat stopped by me and he didn't stay long. Other than that it was nice to be the only one out today. Here is the picture for you guys, enjoy. yes it is a camera phone, I know I need a real one but I keep putting it off.

Have you tried to Yak out at the bridge at night? You should try it, Of course you need to really pick the night for it.

Nice job on the slot, I'm glad you made it out. I was gonna go, but this stupid cold I have been trying to kick for the past week came back with a vengeance yesterday. I will be out there tonight unless the wind just really kicks up. Thanks for the report.

I won't be out there tonight. I am helping a friend do some tile work in his house. But Friday I might be out if the weather decides to settle down some. good luck. Report how you do.

Thanks for the report.  Must have been a great feeling to pull something in on the last cast of the day.  I don't know how long those reds are going to stick around.  Hope to get out there this week sometime.
