Earlier today we decided to take our pontoon out with me, my mom and my grandpa. We launched from the navy base and headed across to ft. pickens. After a while of fishing there we realized we were basically wasting time as all we had caught was this little guy. Then we decided to go over to the three mile bridge and try our luck. Got there, and as soon as i got the anchor set my mom already had a nice white trout on. good sign. Then i dropped in and Wham something hit it on the way down! Nice spanish mackeral in the boat. After that we caught some pretty big ground mullet and of course more white trout. I hooked a nice about 2 1/2 foot sail-cat on the lightest pole we had and fought it for about five minutes before i got it to the top to see it. When it was just out of reach with the net it dove under the boat one last time and got tangled in my mothers line on the other side ... you can guess what happened. Oh well, next time he wont be lucky. Then my grandpa caught this little thing... i have no idea what it was but we snapped a pic and back in it went. It was only about three or four inches. We were about to call it a day and head on back when we realized we had started drifting. I thought "oh crap... stupid anchor came loose" so i walked to the front to check it and CRAP! its gone... somehow it came untied after 4 hours..... guess we should have left five minutes sooner well thats about it.. we ended up with 1 spanish 1 sail cat (much smaller than the one that got off) alot of white trout and ground mullet(or whatever else they are called)
finished product

A lot of people catching reds on free lining gulps. Not on the bottom. Are those whiting(kingfish)?
