Wes, with that statement I think I've lost all respect for you. I'm an atheist. I don't condone lying, but I did grow up in Catholic schools. Quibbling over the degree of sin or consciously sinning I think ramps up the degree. If there is a God, he's damning you to hell or worthless. There is no scriptural basis I'm aware of that says the ends justify the means. Lying to do good in the eyes of the Lord is chock full of pitfalls and I suggest God have mercy on your soul. Protecting your way of life or status by lying cheating and stealing does not jive with my understanding of Christ's teachings. Of course, I'm just a heathen so what do I know. Those more knowledgeable than me can tell you whether you're truly going to burn in hell for promulgating lies to protect your status in life.

Wos, I do not want either Obama or McCain. I just cannot, like others, condone the promulgation of flat out lies in an attempt to influence the outcome of the election. We are not talking political preferences here, rather basic moral principles.

You clearly stated that you were in favor of false information promulgated to influence the outcome of the elections. How can you, an avowed Christian, condone lies falsely published? Your post makes it clear to me that you favor any tactic to defeat Obama.

You know what I like the most about these discussions? It's the liberal vs conservative bs.

There is no such thing as a conservative anymore and those of us who are traditional/Adam Smith liberals are more conservative than most, if not all, of the republican politicians.

Someone start a thread discussing what liberals vs conservatives means and I'd love to see the responses, but I'll suggest this:

Conservatives don't borrow money from commies. Conservatives do not oppose conservation of resources or efficiency. Conservatives do not involve themselves with the private lives of citizens. Conservatives do not exchange security for freedom.

Liberals do not believe we should give free stuff to the lazy. Liberals don't support stupid energy policies. Liberals do not support subsidizing corporate welfare.

Those are all things democrats and republicans do. What ever happened to Americans who are interested in America?

Yes, Bama, that's the article that started this. Should he have gone? Sure, I think he should have too, but he can't possibly visit them all. Has any of them gone to every base where someone might be wounded? C'mon, see that for what it is, they found a chink and targetted it. You nor I have a clue about what was really going on during one of these things to have any idea why they may have passed on it. This isn't about the 1 line of truth in the e-mail it's about the overall lie.

I bet if I look hard enough I can find where every politician makes a mistake. How many of these politicians have taken the time to go see the wounded when they are right there in DC? I'm betting very few, at least until they are on a campaign trail. But, then, how many of you have been?

Where are the posts on here about how Bush and McCain both put flood victims property and potentialy lives at risk by going to Iowa and pulling those cops away??? They just had to have the photo op. See, it happens on both sides.

First off, I was not aware this was untrue. Within that frame, I apologize to all on the forum. I did get the email from someone whom I fully trust and still do. Obviously he was also misled, and I will inform him as such.

Concerning your comments about my intellectual and cognitive capabilities, and my integrity, that seemed a bit personal. You could have stated your point without resorting to being personal. I don't lie to my kids and I wouldn't post anything I knew to be a lie. Again, I was unaware this item was questionable. That's okay, lesson learned to me. But what do my kids have to do with this anyway?

I don't think I have any intention of bringing down this country, and I'm not sure how a discussion on the PFF or in any other form would bring down this nation. The points following my post were from people doing what I was doing - venting - just like you did. But they kept their focus on the public figure(s), and made excellent points about the failure of Washington to address the problems facing America. I think many people feel the media are publicizing (and hiding) even bigger lies than contained in this email. I feel completely let down by the media, and I think many have expressed the same. The bottom line is the PFF and personal emails do not have the ability to persuade the US and world public in anyway approaching that of the powerful liberal media.

Throughout the forum, PFF posters express concurrent opinions but some express disagreement. Sometimes the discussions get personal and I view these for entertainment. But does calling a fellow poster a name really hurt in a forum? Not really; but I think more is revealed about the namecaller and their perceived place not only on this forum, but in the world.

But thank you for your opinion. Of course I still standby my opinions about Obama - he is not fit to be president no matter how he is marketed. If you feel you must judge, don't be surprised when you are judged. With your approach, I’m sure you’ll find fault in this response.

As I said before, what are the facts, fact is Mr. Obama, did not see fit to visit the wounded in Germany, why? You form your opinion. He has done absolutely nothing in his brief career except make good speeches, and fact is he talking high level, but to date he has put out a plan on how he is going to achieve something except for removing the troops from Iraq in 16 months without reviewing the facts and listening to his commanders in the field. In business when the leader makes decisions without input from his people, he fails, we can not afford that failure of a President. My input to the posting is fact, if you going to post something research it before you put it on. If your playing games, get a life. You say you do it to see who post and what they post. Mr. Obama is a easy target because he is like a pair of flip-flops, that is, give him time and he will put them on backwards and so left is scarey. I will go back now to my campaign of drilling and nuclear power, and windmills. Solutions that will help the economics of our country and get us back in a life style we all enjoy.

My point was not that he was worthy of being elected. My comment is to those that keep posting this dribble. I don't think he has what it takes to be a good president. But I don't think McCain does either. The best we can hope for is a VP that will shore up all of the holes in one camp or the other.

I am just pointing out that outside of the politicians the only liars around here(and I'm not talking about fishing lies) are the ones that post this kind of crap knowing full well it's false. Either that or they are too stupid to be able to tell these are false. If someone posted a lie like this about McCain they would be announced un-american and all kinds of things, but because it's a liberal they feel it's ok to trash out this man. IF it would help his campaign, he would say somethng bad about us. He is a zero and we can not afford him. He is not a leader, he is just a rookie with good speach writers. Lord please help the United States before he gets elected.

My original question to you is: What has he done, one thing, and what is his plan, I am not talking about blowing smoke up your ass, what is the plan. I am a Democrat, proud of it, but very embarrassed what he said to the Germans. We don't have to kiss anyone's butt. And yes the media is all about him. Can you afford 47 million people to have free health care, 11 million of them are illegals, these are facts and if you go to Canada and work for 6 months, with a 51% deduction plus sales tax, you will find you can not afford it either. Not to mention don't get hurt, you may get seen in about two weeks, here again fact. Find me a good fact on him that he has done anything.

Hello everyone,

As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened.

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providingfor you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-in-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide thefreedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of personhe really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

What really concerns me is how Obama, Congress and the Senate can talk about all the things that are wrong, but do nothing. Absolutely nothing. I watched yesterday as the spent the day working on a investigation of impeachment on a President that is leaving. Not concerned one bit about our energy issues, our economy, just about how they can tear down something else. I hope Bush calls a emergency session to work on the energy problem after they leave in August, this will show the true colors of our Congressional Leadership. There is no one answer but there are a lot of opportunities, one getting control of our destiny. As for Obama, I am so tired of his TV ads, and the bias of the media. I have to agree about McCain. I thank him very much for his service to our country but he does nothing for me. As for "what has Obama done?" He's given a 17 minute speech. It was one heck of a speech if I might add but I don't think that is what should propel someone to the presidency. I difinitely won't be voting FOR someone in November. Just voting against one but regardless of who wins. :bowdown:usaflag

I totally agree...McCain is no conservative. Overall I was disgusted by the choices from both parties. Huckabee got my poll but he had no support from party leadership. IMHO Republican leadership folded, and has failed overall.

I kinda avoid these political posts but I was so damn disgusted by Obama, I had to vent. I'm even more incensed at the media for portraying this jackass as Pres Elect.

His whole trip is one big stunt. How can a few photo ops with some world powers give you some foreign relations experience. He states that he is on this crazy trip as an Illinois senator. Yet he talks to these other countries and their leaders as if he is already the President. This man is just one big smoke and mirrors canidate. He has in no shape or form given us any substance.

that is just another reason i like McCain. i was a soldier for 8 yrs (Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq) and am currently here in Barsa Iraq (as a contractor now). i will always vote for a person that understands the military and there to do whatever he can for them. i know a lot of people hate Bush but while i was in (97-05) he did more for me than anybody in his shoes did. thats just my opinion.

The German magazine Der Spiegel reported earlier that Obama canceled a visit to the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, a military hospital in Germany, and the Ramstein Air Base.

The report came as Obama prepared to speak to thousands at a high-profile address in Berlin.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs released a statement saying Obama originally wanted to visit troops at Landstuhl to “express his gratitude for their service and sacrifice,” and noted that he already visited troops in Iraq while he was part of an official congressional delegation.

But he said the second leg of Obama’s trip was different.

“The senator decided out of respect for these servicemen and women that it would be inappropriate to make a stop to visit troops at a U.S. military facility as part of a trip funded by the campaign,” Gibbs said.

John McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said, “Barack Obama is wrong. It is never inappropriate to visit our men and women in the military.”

McCain’s Senate colleague Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., also took a shot at Obama.

“I noticed that Obama had plenty of time to shoot hoops … but he didn’t have the time to stop by (the Ramstein base),” he told FOX News.

They were talking about him on CNN last night, he went to a base in Iraq and wouldnt visit the wounded soilders in the hospital, he said it wouldnt be appropriate to visit while on his campaign trail. Someone then fired back that its never inappropriate to visit wounded servicemen.:usaflag

I don't know each of your personal political convictions, and apologize if anyone finds this offensive. I thought it was important enough to share. This is Jeff's first hand view of Senator Obama.

Hello everyone,

As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened.

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-in-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.
