Alan and myself launched at Woodlawn a little before sunrise....Ran down to my fathers dock to see him and Raoul off(headed Offshore). After having a breakfast beer with them we headed down to the west end of Gulf Breeze. We were met by a fairly strong trout bite. Moved around alot during the day, trying out new areas and new lures. Had a lot of fun and caught some good fish.

We ended up catching around 12 trout , 1 spanish and 2 lower slot reds. I have a bunch more pics will have to put them up later in the afternoon.

Here's Alan with his fish

And here's my little bitty red.

All in all a fun day on the water. We learned more than we caught, which in my book is AWESOME!!!!!!

Good report Brad, sounds like you caught a good bunch of fish and found some new spots as well.

Nice catch, that one had some nice spots! A lot of lower slots to just under are around right now, not sure where the bigger ones moved to, I've found a few but most have been 18"-21".

The specs have also been a little more fun my last few trips, now that the water has cooled a little.

Word has it the pros mostly fished deep water in the tournamnet, but the top 2 spots went to Panama City fish!

I chased a stud Saturday for about 20 minutes betwen 2 sets of docks, he followed my jig back to the boat 4X before he left a note; it said..

"Hey Pirate, I didn't get this big being stupid; I'm just teasing you!"

KEEP AN OCCASSIONAL RED HERE AND THERE FOR DINNER, BUT FOR
THE REST, PRACTICE HEALTHY CATCH & RELEASE TECHNIQUES
SAVE SOME FOR THE FUTURE!

LOL!!!!!!

I choked on an upper slot on the west side of Deer Point. He was up between some docks as well. Really nice fish. I just got over anxious and busted him off. We saw you around 1100 sat. morning. You were a little East of us. Great looking boat by the way

Yeah Lots of small fish on the flats right now. Top two fish were caught just a couple hundred yards from each other on the flats. Everyone else fished bridges and jetties. Not my style but it works this time of year.

Nice post and pics. I was out a week ago Sunday morning and caught a few Specks, deeper water than usual. Using popping cork and shrimp. I couldn't get a bite in the grass but about 7feet of water just off the flat they were hitting.

Thanks for posting

Nice catch. I like those spots on the red fish.
