First have to say no pics ( no camera ).

Got up early yesterday made one throw with the bait net caught all the bait I needed ( I thought ) and headed out for a morning of fishing.  Got to my spot put on a small mullet and no sooner it got to the bottom 9 1/2 feet a large flounder in the boat. During the course of the morning caught 10 really nice flounder, hooked about a 10 to 12 lb Tarpon got one jump out of him before throwing the hook ( my first time ever )with a Tarpon and gosh knows had my line broke so many times it was not funny .  Was using some light gear so I could not tackle what ever was hitting my bait but figure it was some nice size grouper .  So if anyone catches one with a small owner hook in there jaw it is mine.  I maybe left a dozen or so hooks out there.  Anyway got back to the dock before 12:00 noon got the fish cleaned, made a couple of trips to the store, had Jimmy Sherhouse and his wife Patty over for a fish fry as he helped cleaned the fish. Naturally we all ate too much &  had a few adult beverages .  Wanted to do it again this morning but could not get up early enough.  What a great time I had on the water yesterday .

Good report, Ike sure has brought us some good fishing. I hope the bite stays around for a while.

Frayed Knot

I was in the Perdido ( intercoastal ) .  This is a new spot for me and wanted to fish it before everybody found out about it .  Once it is found I can assure you it will be just another spot with nothing on it .

Not looking for your spot.  I caught some nice size flounder west of the pass in Big Lagoon Tuesday.

Maybe the flounder are on the move as are the mullet .  I have never seen so many spring mullet up in the shallows.  Wonder if the roe mullet will start this next full moon ? My guess is yes.

Be nice getting some roe mullet this fall.  Cheese Grits ,cole slaw, baked beans mullet fliets with the grease dripping off of them and a adult beverage .  CAN'T WAIT
