Wow!!!!!! What a tournament. We started off with food cheers and Mustang Sally. Then we went and got facials to be pretty for the fish. We then awaken to a beautiful day for fishing.

the boats left out to the fishing grounds at 6am and came back with specks...flounders...spanish...bluefish...redfish and one fish that had a pink boa wrapped around its head!

Then we were graced by the ever so lovely Lucy Buffet. She is one very nice lady!

We then were visited by the legendary Kenny "the snake" Stabbler and his wide reciever Fred Biletnikoff...Mr Stickum!

capt rick and capt chris discussing fishing plans for the day.

fishin chix getting checked in and wearing their boots!

cannot forget the beverages!!!

capt dusty and his crew. he would come back with a third place redfish.

capt josh's crew...OMG check out the tackle box! they also dressed up a sheephead with a BOA and tried to pass it off as a ladyfish.

dock crew after breakfast.

jenna gieger with top speck!

frankie with third place redfish.

darlene mathieu with top redfish. capt randy westmoreland was pretty excited. he is going to panama for peacock bass fishing.

darlene mathieu with Grand champion fishin chix angler and a trip to panama for black marlin fishing!

All in all it was a great day to start out the first of three tournaments...our next tournament will be June 14th in Pensacola.

here are the results...

What a great bunch of girls!  I had a great time with Jessie, Carrie, Trish, Dale and Cindy. Jessie hooked up on a nice keeper redfish that broke us off right at the boat!  We also had one more red that broke us off, but Trish landed a nice fat 27 1/2 inch red that weighed in at a solid 9lbs. Too bad it was a half an inch too long for the Tournament.

Even though we were in Alabama the tournament went with Florida rules for the slot ( 18" -27" ) because a few guides went to Flordia to fish and they wanted the playing field to be even. But look at the belly of this fish, he's a fatty.

We stayed in Alabama all day, although there's no place like home; we worked the flats for a few hours with no luck, then went near the bridge and started hooking up blues and redfish. We also went out in the gulf for a little while to try our luck on a King or a fat Spanish Mackerel, but came back empty handed. Everyone on the boat got to weigh in a fish, but we didn't make the board. It was still a great day on the water!
I'm already looking forward to the June tournament.

Here's wishing everyone tight lines!
Capt. John
