I think after Thursday if the Top Kill doesn't work then maybe they should....
"Nukes or conventional explosives could be used to seal off oil leak quickly" http://video.foxnews.com/v/4200011/n...ylist_id=89939 Conventional explosives could probably collapse this thing.....and this really needs to be the next step. We can't wait until August for a solution. |

Well according to BP, we'll be waiting until August 14th for the last resort to even pan out. That's their target date for the relief well. By then, it will be too late, the entire Gulf will be full of oil. The Obama Administration needs to put this under primary Federal control and call in the DOD. They can't possibly screw it up any more than BP already has. I'll put my money on the American people and our military to solve this. At least I'd rather have our people fail at something than to stand around another 2 1/2 months and watch a foreign oil company slowly kill off the Gulf of Mexico.

The Feds should have yanked the control away from BP as soon as the first hint of them being in over there head not to mention controlling a crime scene (yes if you are negligent and it causes death thats a crime). But the gov says that BP is better suited for stopping the leak then anyone else just ask em.

What, if anything is the Navy going to do about this? BP is much better equipped to handle this than the Navy or the Federal Govt.

Gee what can the navy do about that BP cant... let me think first it wouldnt be the navy but the USCG in chargesince they are mandated to control oil spills... How about take over the scene away from BP, maybe take over BP's assets??? Maybe get with some of the marine institutions that have offered to help and give there expertise (<a href="http://oilspill.fsu.edu">http://oilspill.fsu.edu</a>) which BP has rejected along with all 700 hunderd other offers of assistance?? Oh and let me see and i think that Gov is suppose to maintain files on contigincy plans for this and there are other oil companies besides the one that created this mess that can take over. And actually the military prbably could take over since we stopped those nasty oil well fires way back when in Kuwait... Actually what i expect the Gov to do is to take over like they are suppose to..34 days do you really think BP gives two shits...imean really?? BP has lied and liedat every contention, and the gov unfortunatly has gone along with it.5k barrelswe promise.... noits just not safe bringing another agancies ROV down there right now but we will get back withya. We cant show you how much oil is coming out because we are just more interested in stopping the flow. They are pissing on all of our backs and calling it rain and they should NOT BE IN CHARGE ON A FEDERAL DISASTER THAT THEY CREATED!!

samiams, I couldn't agree with you more. You nailed it. BP is more worried about how to contain their investment than the oil spill. I think the agenda is not what it should be. We can put a man on the moon but can't stop this? I doubt that.

The bottom line is BP is calling all of the shots. The most important thing to BP is to preserve their well in the Gulf. Their hole in the gulf is more important to them than anything. This deal would be done already if they were not trying to save the well. They are letting LA get trashed with oil. They threaten reporters with arrest when they don't leave. BP is more powerful than the Coast Guard and for that matter the president. How can a dispersant be banned in England for 10 years but our EPA lets them spray it like its soda all over the Gulf. Our fishing areas are getting smaller everyday here, our marsh is getting ruined and the ARMY CORP wont even issue a permit for a state to protect it's own coast with snad burms. This will not be like the Valdez alot of oil showing up all at once. It will come for many years a bit at a time for TX to FL. If you haven't seen it yet its coming. Unless BP orders the NAVY in they ain't comin. BP = Big Polluter or Best Poison.
