Unbelievable!! Someone bitching about the dirty, nasty, argumenative climate of the political section. Hey, buy a vow!! That is the nature of politics. I have more respect and trust in the 'nasty' participants of the political section than anything you could replace them with that followed your guidelines of 'no arguments', 'be nice', 'smile at all times', 'be agreeable', 'be polite at all times',....... boring!!!

Ooh! We should all be nice to each other, all the time. There is a time and place. Take for instance the Japanese. They take courtesy to the extreme because they live on top of each other. Don't confuse being argumentative with common courtesy. One is free speech, the other is the way those who have learned proper morals and values, lead their life.
