Steve, you're not scaring me, you're disheartening me. I guess it really doesn't matter because the U.S. Constitution itself no longer matters. The 10th Amendment has been violated again and again to the tune of about $16 trillion dollars. The Commerce Clause has been so bastardized that now the government can force you to purchase a product from a private company or be fined. The Senate's "advice and consent" function is moot because the Senate is apparently in session when the President says it is. There are no longer three separate but equal branches of government, only a much-too-powerful Executive Branch, a spineless Legislative Branch, and a politicized Judicial Branch. The concept of "checks and balances" has been replaced by bitter partisanship.

In fact, it doesn't really matter who the next President is or who controls the Congress. Our path has already been set and it is unalterable.

It would be a remarkable feat for Rubio to be a citizen of the United States at time of adoption of the U.S. Constitution.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the 4th Amendment is used as toilet paper, posse comitatus is toast per the NDAA, habeas corpus is a quaint anachronism, and our police state is thriving quite nicely. You can bet that everything posted on this and every other forum is being monitored by the Feds. I did indeed get the DHS memo that military veterans with pro-gun/third-party bumper stickers on their cars could likely be terrorists.

If I had the money, I would have already moved to New Zealand or Chile. This country is going down the path of Argentina or the Weimar Republic. The moochers own the country now.

The path I mean is sovereign debt default/hyper-inflation/economic collapse.

In order to balance the federal budget, either the entire government would have to be eliminated or all mandatory spending (social security, SSI, welfare, food stamps, government pensions) would have to be eliminated. Or, both discretionary and mandatory spending would have to be cut in half. This was from Obama's latest budget.

It is a fact that our government cannot even cut a measly 1% from its budget. So many people are dependent on the Federal Government for their livelihoods (civil service, military, retirees, welfare recipients, social security recipients, DOD contractors, etc) that no cuts will be forthcoming. The Federal Government, which is like the Borg, will never willingly decrease its own size and power; it's Prime Directive is to continually grow.

Therefore, this $1.5 trillion dollar a year deficit spending will continue unabated until such time that our national debt is so insurmountable that the people buying our bonds will demand higher interest rates, or they'll stop buying them. Such a large percentage of our federal budget will be going toward servicing the interest on our $25 or $30 trillion dollar debt, that no money will be left to run the government or pay the government dependents. Money printing and hyperinflation will be the only way our government can pay its obligations. Economic collapse will occur, followed by societal break down.

I cannot leave the country, but I am preparing for the worst. At a minimum I hope to be able to--independent of outside assistance--feed my family and protect our property from looters and criminals.

And I don't even have a Biblical world view!

I can definitely see where a natural born citizen would be a child born of 2 US Citizens. Trouble is that it's been taken for granted and accepted for so many years that anyone born in the US is a Citizen that it's probably become law as a result. So many things evolve that way that it's not too hard to accept. From what I've seen to date, the Framers simply did not identify that well enough so there are too many unknowns allowing arguments either way.

Don't get me wrong, I would love nothing more than to have it that way but in real life, the same will continue and anyone born in the US will be a US Citizen. ...until it's legally challenged and changed, you can beat the drums into eternity but nothing will change. Even IRS tax laws are written knowing that court challenges will ultimately guide final rules.

What does need to happen is to finally and completely define who is a citizen once and for all. If not, we'll have yet another version of obama dismantling, destroying and dividing our country after he's done his part.

Let's just all agree that Obama is actually the illegitimate love child of his mom's Marxist pal and his own personal mentor Frank Marshal Davis. Then, he'd have two U.S. Citizens for parents at the time of his birth and he'd be a natural born citizen. Case closed.

The resemblance is uncanny. Barry and Frank (right) look almost identical, especially the eyes and cheek bones, while Obama senior (left) has very high cheek bones. Barry got Stanley Dunham's very long chin. I'd love to see some computer analysis done on these pictures.
