I stand by what I feel is right. I feel our troops have the right to speak up for themselves and their beliefs. I understand that above all our troops have a commitment and duty to fulfill. God bless all of our troops!
Now that is the key!! All too many will do what is 'expedient' and not what is 'right'.

I love this country and i love each and every person that serves this country so I can express my opinions on this public forum. I will respect our troops! That doesn't mean I have to agree with them on everything but i WILL respect them!!

Marmidor, I respect your view, I'm just saying that once you sign the agreements, take the oaths, you are apt to jeopardize your situation....... by stating your views/beliefs. This includes HS school teachers, soldiers, and sometimes NFL players??

This is the Military, if you decide to quit at 3PM today, it may be your God given right, it may be THE RIGHT THING TO DO in God's eyes, but it will probably come with some negative consequences. It has been this way since there were Armies.

I do understand why it has to be this way. I guess I kinda spoke out of turn. You are correct that once you take the oath it's all bets are off. I didn't mean any disrespect at all. Thank you for your service and keep our boys and girls safe!

You are correct on this, which is the reason I do not teach science in our school system anymore. While it is true that taking a job means giving up certain rights, that is no excuse for doing wrong. In my case I simply refused to remain silent and obey the directions of a principal that insisted that I change the grades of a number for failing students to passing grades. I refused. There were consequences, but I look myself in the mirror and know that I did the right thing.

BTW, there are consequences to not doing the right thing in GOD's eyes.
Some very harsh consequences!!

Yep, we all have to answer someday. A final accounting. As for the teaching stretch, mine lasted nine years. Loved it, hated it. In my second year, at the age of 46, an assistant prinicipal suggested that I change a grade. I was apalled, but said let me think about it. The following day I announced, sure I have a solution, "I'm gonna give every one an "A". She was not amused, but she understood, the "F" was well deserved and I was not about to change it. She also understood, by changing it, would not be fair to anyone. That summer, I transferred to another school.
