My PC is 6 yrs. old and probably needs to be replaced, and I am trying to figure out the best way to do it. Recent issues I have had- entire I Tunes library is missing- probably $2000 worth of songs. Maybe I can do a system restore and get my music back? Also, it is very slow. All my favorites disappearedtoo. Here are the options I have thought of...
Geek Squad or something similar Kenny at Emerald Coast Marine (he does PC work if I am not mistaken) Hiring a friend who is an IT guy I want to buy a new PC that will run fast and won't have problems like I've been having. I'd also like to get my I Tunes library back andI want to transfer all the crap I need off my old computer to my new one. I have Carbonite for my back up protection and use Windows Live One Care for my security. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated as far as who to use to accomplish my desired outcomes stated above. I'd rather have someone come to me than have to bring my PC somewhere, but I would do it if I had to. I am prepared to pay someone fairly for the work I need, I'm not trying to do this cheap, just do it right. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

I think I Tunes that you have downloaded are kept on file with I Tunes. I know my son retrieves his when a friend used his I pod and they got whipped out. I'll ask him when he wakes up...got in from work at 3:30...and probably didn't go to bed till about 7

I wouldn't use Geek Squad...over priced and most likely not the best knowledge. A local PC repair shop is your best bet, something like what I assume Kenny does. He will most likely want you to bring your PC to him and then after a few days or so just pick up whatever new PC you ordered from him to your specs and it will have everything transferred already.

Once you get your PC the way you want I'd invest into a EXTERNAL hard drive. My external is off and only on when I want to trasfer/backup my C: drive
Without power to my external...... ![]() External powered up

This is michael, tunamans son.
ok 1st have you tried a (*.*) search? go to start/search/files and folders/*.*mp3 (astric dot astric mp3)no spaces this will find ANY AND ALL files of MP3 format on your hard drive. did you buy these songs off of iTunes? if so you can open iTunes and there is a "purchased" tab under the store heading that will take you to the list of everything that you have purchased from iTunes store. secondarily i would call apple care if that dont work for you.. thier number is 1 800 apl care (1.800.275.2273) if its broke and has an apple on it they can fix it... hope this is helpful. and if your new pc has the same OS you can set them on a internal network and use the file and settings transfer wizard to move all files you want from the old to the new pc. mikey |

Depends on where you are at, but there is a place in Gulf Breeze called cybertech that is really good. They make house calls.
I had virus problems a month ago and they fixed mine right up. They have been around for a long time, so they are not Fly-By-Night or anything. |

Start the computer in Safe Mode with Networking Support and then go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and run an online scan on all drives.
If it finds anything, let it clean it up. Next, delete all your temporary files... Reboot and see if that helps. If not, maybe the files were deleted? If so, check out a program called Active Undelete. |
