Default wanted spear gun

im looking for a speargun. i am new to spearfishing and want something easy to manage and learn off of. any help would be great. i have read some of the posts on the forum and hope i get to meet some of you. let me know thanks

Start out with a Biller at least a 45 they are easy, Cheap and great guns

I agree.
Billers are great guns. Relatively inexpensive, easy to learn to use, easy to quickly become proficient at reloading.

I've had a stainless Biller for 12 years. It's killed everything from AJs to Cobia and hundreds of snapper/trigger.... The only reason I'd choose the wooden model is that after the shot, the wooden gun floats up. It's neutral with the spear, but because it floats up, it never gets sand in the mechanism. Getting sand in the lockworks causes problems. You can use riffe bands, but you'll have to change the ferule to something other than biller's standard issue because when you inevitably miss on a long shot, the biller ferrule will crack. Just my 2cents.
