If I were you I'd go pick myself up a 7' 6" Calico Jack made by Hurricane Rods. They're only like $60 at Dick's & they're undoubtedly comparable to rods twice their price. I even pick mine up before I touch any of my Star or Loomis rods sometimes. I highly recommend them!
For a truly light weight that you can sling all day with enough backbone for slot size fish - check Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0, 7'3" MH. Or go up to 7'6" Heavy. $100 bucks a pop...
The Berkeley inshore series is the only Rod you need. Enough lightness in the tip to throw just a soft bait on a hook and enough back bone to cast a heavy corky a mile.
