Garcia Ambassadour 1500c Baitcaster (SnuffCan)

Yep, I have one. The smallest Ambassadour ever made. Some old timers called it the Snuffcan due to its small round size and shape. Pretty much a collection piece now. It works fine and has been stored in a cabinet for the past 25 years. Condition would be Good with no box.

I have a question about the older abu's.I have a couple of the new ambassadeurs and love them , and I have just purchased what seems to be a very old one.It says on the reel No. 6000 and came in a leather case with tools and oil.It looks very similar to one of the new ones I have but when you pull line out it free spools unless you hold the crank and then the drag works great.Is that how the old ones work or is it broke?

Garcia changed the ABU series reels often, and it sounds like you have a DD or Direct Drive Reel, also meaning it has no anti-reverse and the reel handle or crank will turn backwards or in reverse, and if you hold it still the drag will work as the spool releases line.

Is the reel Red?

Yes it is.It was rebuilt really well but I guess I won't be trolling with it.
