Why Plasma??

the LCD screens do not reflect background light like the plasma screens do especially when a dark or night time moovie sceen is showing.( you can see more of what is going on behind you than yu can see what you are trying to watch )

next time you are in the eletronics dept where many tv displays are available to view, look into the screen as if it was a mirror and find the overhead lights in the store behind you. the plasma screens reflect more background light than do the LCD ones. this is what you will be dealng with whenever room lighting is on where you will be watching TV.

We have been looking to upgrade our tv soon and this is the biggest issue that was brought to my attention.

is there some desireable benifit of plasma that you can share to keep me from making a 36" mistake??..........................Thanks
