We don't have a commercial pelagic permit... The commercial reef and commercial pelagic don't usually sell as a pair like the charter permits do.

This permit allows you to catch and sell any reef fish that is not under the IFQ system. If it's a fish that has an IFQ this permit allows you to purchase or lease red snapper or gag grouper quota. You do not need anything more than this permit to sell fish such as vermillion snapper, amberjack, and triggerfish.

Do you have to show that half your income comes from using this license or have I misunderstood the rules?

Used to have an income qualifier affidavit but they discontinued this feature so pretty much anyone can go buy one now.... BUT you will need a FL slt water products license with the RS endorsement to sell fish to market. IF fishing out of Florida.... This is not a charter permit, it's a commercial fishing permit just to help clear this guys post up. There is a commercial reef permit and a charter reef and charter pelagic permit for GOM...
