They are registered with the AKC as a yellow lab. A true yellow dog has a black muzzle. A white dog has a pink muzzle like a chocolate.

Do the yellows fit the AKC standard for a lab?

Nice looking pups. No they don't grow up to be yellow. All though there could be one or so to get darker with age. Have had around 12 litters with white pups in the last 10 years. Not all the whites have pink noses their will be some with black noses also.

I just got two white lab pups this week. They are the smartest dogs I ever had. They are already house broken, and into all kinds of mischief. I definitely recommend this breed if you are looking for really smart, and wonderful hunting dogs. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses, I guess most everyone agrees labs are great dogs, regardless of color. Mine are smarter than alot of people I've known!

They are like any other animal, there will be variations to the standards set out for the breed. It's kinda like a common sense thing.
