NEW PRICE: $5,400!
2000 Harley XL 1200. This bike has had all unneeded parts taken of for a clean custom look. It is the true definition of a "chopper". I still have the parts though if you want them. Front blinkers, mirrors, belt guard, front fender, ect. Goodies: New chrome spoked wheels, front and rear, new whitewall tire rear, new tire front. New chrome DNA Springer front end, new stainless steel custom brake rotors, front and rear, new chrome custom front brake caliper, new 18" apehanger handlebars, new chrome risers, new open drag pipes, new stainless steel braided clutch cable and front brake cable, new oil tempdipstick, sidemount licences plate frame, chrome forward controls, Iron Cross mirror, Springer chrome headlight, fatbob 1 piece tank, bobber rear fender, mustang seat, rear bullet style blinkers,HD brass tank emblems, HD brass primary emblem, black dice valve caps. Few other things, check out the last couple pics. The cases and pulley cover have been chopped and shaved. This is a pretty detailed job shaping and sanding and polishing, but gives it that bad ass look, and removes dead weight. I was going to make it hand shift, but didn't get around to it. Would have looked perfect with that custom Springer front end Polished the rear belt pulley and gave it a nice brush finish instead of that awful factory finish. Also, I have rerouted a "puke line" as it's called so that crankcase pressure oil overspray does not get routed back into your engine via the carberator. If you have ever had a HD and hate that oil drip and discoloration on your air filter, thats how you end it. I have routed it to a the rear of the bike with a chrome filter mounted under the swingarm. The Iron Cross air cleaner does NOT come with the bike, I will put the Arlen Ness "Big Sucker" one back on, but the I.C. one is going on my next project. This is not a perfect showroom bike. It IS a great looking bike that runs great, is a Evo motor, is not very old, and turns heads. There is rust on the top of the rear shocks. They are on ebay brand new for less than $80 if you decide to replace them. If you want, I'l even put em on for you if you buy em. Also, has a oil leak at the base gasket. NOT the head gasket, the base gasket. Nothin but anoying. Not intended for weekend warriors who like to hang out at the local starbucks with your gold-card stuck to your forehead, and walk around in all your brand new officialy licenced factory approved Harley Davidson leathers and full gear with wallet chains and head bandanna to match, talking about how you just road a whole 20 miles and can't believe what a long trip it was. No...this is a "keep a hand on your wallet, and a tighter hand on your woman when I ride up cuz I really don't give a rats ass what you think and yes I can be dangerous if provoked and yes thats whiskey on my breath and when I spill some on the tank I don't care cuz it's flat black and I got a whole can of rustoleum at home to touch it up and your bike mighta cost 6 times as much as mine but who are them little 21 year old girls hangin out in the bar parking lot staring at right now me or you??? and do you really even know how to ride your bike cuz from what I've seen I'm scared to pull up next to you at a stop light because it looks like you may fall over onme while trying to roll to a stop, and your right...woman don't really like me...but if you had this bike they would ask you for rides too" type of bike. When your in a parking lot with 30 other Harleys parked there, you will be the one noticed. Not a "cookie cutter" factory HD like every other one with some chrome dress up parts. There are so many HD's on the road, and they all look the same, not this one. Nuff said. Buy it if you want it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You can see before and after cutting the cases. Also, alot of the old parts still on. The 2 tanks in this pic may give you an idea of my next project. Like my coffin tank with the gold metallic ghost flames, but likin my dished sides tank I am almost done with too. Desisions desions. Got an old brass fire extinguisher I been eyeballin fro a tank too. |

Thanx K-Bill!
Forgot to mention, it is lowered too. Shocks are 10" shocks instead of the stock 11 1/2". It is a smaller bike and light and easy to handle for anybody a lill smaller. I am 6'1" and I would like somethin a little bigger. But it's got plenty of power and runs strong. Heres a video from when I was ready to switch out the rear rim and tire. Couldn't see throwin away the old tire with some tread left on it. You can also see how good the new fron brake is. And you can hear how good this puppy sounds... |

good looking and sounding bike, but wouldn't it be more of a bobber than a chopper?
those evo 1200's have plenty of power for the weight of the sportster, so for whoever gets this, it'll be a nice little hot rod. I used to have a 07 xl1200c that I traded in with 17k on it when I bought my 09 FLHTCU which has 20k now. |

Your right mostly Slack wolf. Bobber style. Most people never really heard of or no what a bobber is though.
And technically the term chopper started from "choppin" useless items off a bike, and a lot of people raked out the front end and put longer forks or girders on too, and that kinda became the trade mark. But yeah...more technically it's a bobber. I think it would look sweet with the Indian LArry style tank I have yet to finish in the one pic. Heres some of his finished work, and what it would look like with the final filler and paint.. ![]() ![]() ![]()
