'm sick of trying to post multiple times. Here's the report of us out Fri and Sat in the winds 1.5-2 miles offshore on human bobbers (Sit On Top) kayaks...

Thanks for the detailed report. Answered a bunch of questions for me. 1. what was cutting me off out there Friday. 2. can I anchor out there 3. use of marker buoys 4. anchor chain.
Thats wild about the Houdini grouper! I'll run into y'all out there one day. I'm not exactly thrilled about the north wind factor right now.

Garrett here... had a great time yesterday and hope to fish with you guys again. I had a couple good bites fishing mostly with just the dead finger mullet, but couldn't get anything to the yak until later after you guys left. I caught a really fat spanish to chase away the skunk.

The two anchor set up actually worked out really well for me. I tied the 3 pound anchor a few feet above the 5 pounder and just let out about 90-95 feet or rope. Learn something new every time.

Voodoo Lounge, regarding the flag, I didn't use one yesterday but I use a Visipole most of the time. Mine has reflective tape, a light that's supposed to be visible from 2-3 miles, and a jolly roger flag.

We really let the color of the yak be the determinant factor in what we bring n or what gets seen at daylight and dusk. Current Moon Dark lazor tail...

Thinking of getting a kayak to fish out of. 5'9"and not very limber. Recommendations? Like to wade the bay a lot and starting to realize there are a lot of options with a kayak.
