Default Need an address for the weigh in for the yak tournament.

I plan to come up for the day and just fish around the area where the weigh in will be. I need an address to plug into my GPS. This will be a 450 mile drive each way. I'l leave home very early on Sat morning and maybe fish a couple of hours if there is time and head back after the weigh in. I'm too broke to stay in the P'cola area. Probably drive back as far as Marianna and crash there.

I'm bringing my Mini-X with the Standnfish system. Maybe somebody can point out a good location to fish somewhere. I'm too old for that surf launching.

Maybe I can meet a few folks while I'm there.

My biggest problem is I haven't been around Pensacola since the 70's. Has it changed much since then?

I kept my boat at Rusty's next to Rod and Reel Marina. I paid $30 for a wet slip for a 25 footer. Is it still that cheap up there?

This google map shows the entrance to Shoreline park. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...p;source=embed

Good fishing right around that area and directly across the ICW to fish the N side of Santa Rosa island (aka Pensacola Beach)

Looking forward to seeing your new stand.

Been reading your various posts for some time now. I like your unique style. Getting to the park is very easy off 98. You could probably cell phone someone to guide you in. I don't use a cell phone on purpose.

In regards where to fish, when standing on the beach looking to the water: Just to the left of the park is a flat area with some sandy bottom and grass 1-3 ft. deep or so. The area in front of the park is pretty much all grass flats with depths to about 6-8ft the further you go out. Over to the right is what is known as deer point and a long sand point/flat rolling off to some deep areas on either side of it. Around that point is the west end of Gulf Breeze. It has some varying depths and could have more fish, because it is quieter over there. FYI, the deer point/sand point gets some very big waves when the big boats are running to the gulf. Do a google map/reality map of the place in fullest resolution and you will see the bottoms in the area in front of the park. See you there on that day.

A little off track but I've never fished it before, how much does it cost to enter?

Why dont you guys fish the tournament ? you can register fri. night at the hooters capt. meeting/shin dig, wake up and fish.Alotof the winning fish are caught around shorline park ( deerpoint town or fairpoint, EPA) or put in just east of there at live oaks . Didnt alot of anglers pitch tents at the park?

I'd sure like to fish the tournament but I can't leave until late on Friday because I have a kayak charter on Saturday.
