Late post report from 6/28

Apologies for the late post, been busy with grad school. Will get pics up in a day or so.

Got out to pensacola beach Sunday 6/28 early, before the beach got too crowded with the intention of catching a few kings.

Caught 4 kings total, released 2 way undersized fish and kept 2 about 26inchers.

Also, kept a 15inch spanish as well.

Lost another spanish about the same size since I didn't have a gaff or net with me and had to tail-grab all of my fish that day. Just slipped out of my hand.

Also lost a mid-size king, probably about a 3 footer right at the boat. Had been a while since I caught kings and stupidly put way too much pressure on him pulling the hooks. Wasn't too worried about though since you don't want to be eating too big of fish anyway with the mercury issues.

Also, gave me the opportunity to try out my new Surf to Summit Expedition seat. Was fishing for over 5 hours but the seat made it feel like only 2-3. Definitely worth the money since no butt or back soreness at all.

Planning on going out again this weekend really early to beat the crowds on the bridges. Spent the past couple days building a hand-gaff with a broom handle, shark hook and gorilla glue. Going to break it in while I am out there.
