There are a lot of great kayaks to choose from. I'm not a big hobie fan myself but thats just me there are many great kayak fishermen that love them. Their new angler model that you can see on their website looks like an awesome fishing platform. Try several out before you buy one.

The common Hobie fishing models have been the Outback and Revolution. Many are talking up the Pro Angler and the only downside seems to be its weight. It is still lighter than my Adventure Island.

The mirage system is the bomb for fishing hands free and trolling long distances but is not as good for tight bayous.

Try out all of the makes and models and chose the one that fits you.

Then use the heck out of it. Don't store it away gathering dust.

I would definitely have to recommend the hobie outback fish! I bought mine from key sailing on pensacola beach and I absolutely love it! its fast and extremely stable and has plenty of storage space! Go down to key sailing and caz will let you take one for a spin and see what you like!

Btw I would recommend you get the turbo pedals and sailing rudder! They help a lot

Check out Pensacola Kayak and Sail: http://pensacolakayak.com/. That's where I got my yak. Also, they often have demo days where you can try out just about any kayak design out there. It would be a great way to see what you like.

Honestly there really is no difference.... I just say outback fish because thats what i have but the only difference that i know of is that the fish comes with a tackle bucket that fits in one of the 8in. hatches. other than that there is no reason to get one over the other.....

someone please chime in if i am wrong!

Generally, the angler editions have the rod holders installed and perhaps some other stuff, but that is really easy to do yourself. Plus the angler editions of most kayaks come in limited colors - I would get the model and color you want and rig it yourself later, maybe save some bucks.

I have a Hobie Revo and an OK Prowler 13 - same length and width. Both are excellent for fishing and are well designed. But the Hobie usually goes in the truck first.

Good advice to go to Pensacola Kayak & Sail and to Key Sailing - that way you will have had the chance to see just about everything worth seeing andboth shops are very helpful.

Any kayak you are going to use a lot is better than one you won't.
