Today was gorgeous, so I hit the bay after class to work some structure for some sheepies. The tide was moving and the fish were biting. But they kicked my butt. I was fishing light and had several bull reds waylay me in the strong current next to the structure. I only had 8 and 10lb setups though, and just couldn't turn them in the current. I regrouped and landed a few small sheeps and a nice flounder. Then the tide and bite slacked off. I repositioned and decided the turn my anchor into a permanent mooring bouy, so if you see my float tomorrow you're more than welcome to use it. I used up the rest of my bait when the tide swung on a few more little sheeps and one big one that pulled the hook at the boat.
Go get some sheeps guys, they're biting! |
