I agree that mount looks hideous but as a Taxidermist myselfI still have to admire one's talent.

It would be interesting to know the history of that mount. It's clear that it is indeed a Muntjacalso known as a barking deer. I have seen very few of these mounted over the years.Muntjacs are native to Southeast Asia therefore very few are mounted inthe states.

There are very few forms on the market for some of these type animals & that creates intense difficulty in pulling off a quality mount. It actually looks like this mount was done with the real jawset&generic form.This mount could also have been done in Asia in a more remote location wherequality forms are not available. The Taxidermy industry has changed so much over the last 20 years.Today's forms & other supplies have madeour job a lot easier & enablessome with less talent to produce a great mount.

The true talent is actually found in some of these old mounts & is something to be admired. Picturea good trim manlaying trim, then picture him having to carve all the trim from a tree by hand& then laying it.

Again, I agree that mount is notpleasant on the eye butit's still interesting. Do you know the history of that mount?

That looks like the deer that woke up in the back of the car with David Spade and Chris Farley in Tommy Boy...
