Default Poor texans duck buggy

Well after seeing what ya'll use I thought I'd drag granpas old 1964 Ford out of the pasture and see what we could do . This old diesel has been out back for 15 years . We cleaned out the tank , changed the fuel filter , cut the dry rotted tires off gave her a yank and she fired right up . We the split her in half and replace some internal hydrolic line that had rusted in half bought all new gaskets and slapped it back together .Took a 4000 gallon storage tank and cut it into 36" bands . Cut 2 disks 6' in diameter and welded them to the original hus on the rear. Then took the 36" wide bands and rolled them onto the 6' disks , braced everything and did the same thing on the front but only 2' wide so the steering would clear . Built a 10' X 14' deck over the entire tractor decked and painted it with nonskid paint . We extended all the controls up thru the deck and put a center console for the steering wheel . We still need to finish the hand rails and make a latch for the ladder . The front tires may need cleats to grab for steering . Well what do you think so far ? We don't have deep mud , it's just flat swamp with ankle to knee deep mud and water .

for WestBay

The front tire may or may not get one rib around the middle of it . As far as speed , it is to keep us from having to walk out to the ponds. Just remember it's only as fast and comfortable as driving a tractor across unlevel ground . It will do very well in the mud/water as long as the water keeps the tires clean. The mud doesn't get deep out where we are , just hard to walking . For our next project we have purchased the aluminum for a 8' X 24' flats boat that will carry all our provitions and 2 or 3 4 wheelers out to the camp and when unloaded will float in 3 to 4 " of water .

Haven't had it out yet . We been getting hammered by rain lately and the kids have ball pratice dang near every day . Got the railling around it , finished the ladder , and added a boat motor throttle control to the console .
