We had an amazing hunt this weekend on Eglin. Lots of "almost" that were the result of a slow gun, but in the end the coolers are full. Hannah killed this doe with my .270 at 130 yards. It was a bang flop! This is a borrowed doe for the pic. We already cleaned hers before we remembered to take a pic. She hunted in her PJ's all day today. Love this kid.
Yeah, I know you're right. This was probably her last hunt with dad. She only went because of me. I'm ok with that. But I can say she got really excited when she saw deer. And the look on her face at the shot was priceless.
Don't give up on her Dad. My "baby" is 19, in college, and still bloodthirsty. I still sit with her when I can. The last two times we sat together she killed a big buck! Now it is a must of course, which tickles me! Nothing like seeing that smile after a good hunt.
Congrats. I took my little girl last year, she slept leaning on my shoulder or played on her I pad until I saw something and got her attention. Regardless, quality time and once she pulled the trigger and the nanny goat dropped, it was an experience. She knows what it feels like to take a life and that being a meat eater isn't pretty and even if it comes in a package at the store, someone has to do the "dirty work".
