Default open season on bears?

Are they ever going to open a season up these glorified hogs?I mean really if they have no natural predators the population of them will eventually become unhealthy

no reason to blast them, unless they are invading your area

Right now you cannot blast them iF they are invading your area, you have to be under attack and even then they still might fine you. We need a season to thin them out since the FWC will not come in and relocate troublesome bears.

Not sure the outcome, but FWC had a meeting a month or so ago, to discuss having them taken OFF the threatened species list . FWC officials said this would be the first step in order to open a season for them. They said it would be years down the road, and then would be much like or alligator season, with a certain amount of tags being issued for specific counties.

here is a read, has more info than my above comment.

Why would you want to shoot them? Do you eat them?

YES you eat them...They are destructive. At deer leases they eat all your bait, destroy feeders, run game off and the FWC will do noting and you can do NO harm to them. They attack horses near our lease and cause barn damage.
