Chuck's Charters (8/18/2009)I read about it right here on PFF: set out sponges smeared w/ lard. The sponge will stop em up and they die a slow and cruel death.
Folks use to (probably still do in areas)do that to dog hunters that invaded their property...Only problem w/ sponges is anything that eats it will die including fox/bobcat/domestic cats and dogs/coon/opossum.....Not a bright suggestion....

Get a "pet" rabbit, put it on a leash staked to the ground, then a distress call....sit back and wait. You'll either will be a good shot and save the rabbit or take em both out.....:letsdrink
Ouch, didn't think about any collateral damage. Guess if I was a light bulb, I'd be a 1/2 watt(not very bright). But,...if it was all about protecting my chickens....foxes, bobcats, domestic cats , dogs, coons and opossums would all like to get at the birds and if they were in the confined area of the chickens where the sponges were; oh well - mission accomplished. Ain't that right Q-Beam.
