Get a rabbit in distress call and try to call him in. Can you use a gun or are there houses around? A shotgun w/buckshot works good for jump shooting them, they usually pop out of the brush pretty close to the call.

I live off of Jack's Branch Road in Farm Hill and the coyotes are terrible! We here them howling a lot late at night. They seem to be more vocal in the winter but we have had several neighborhood cats go missing in the last two months.

Anyone on here ever hunted coyote? Looking for any and all advice. Found lots of stuff from Southwest and CA but nothing directly related to FL Panhandle. Would assume that should be very similar but any local experience is appreciated.

if he is already coming to your house on a regular basis, i would bet right before dark ( or when ever he is coming ) get where you can see where is goes to get the chickens and try a rabbit squeal. i would be that would bring him in. don't let him smell you. wait for the right wind. they are smart animals.

Have you considered setting a trap with some bait on it, assuming it is legal??

All, appreciate the info.
He made another try yesterday (did not get one) but luckly the neighbor was out working on his boat and scared away when he came back out the with his gun. Sat in the tree stand last night and this morning but no luck. Also considering setting out a trap but need to buy one. Anyone know where you can get a trap large enough for a coyote? |
