Unusual to be notified that it needs to be changed between annual VIP's. Normally, it either holds pressure or it doesn't, and the burst disc is normally part of theannual inspection. Changing out a burst disc doesn't normallyrequire a VIP unless there's reason to believe the tank has a problem.

If you'd like, bring it by MBT and I'll check it, and replace it and refill it at no charge if it's between annual VIP's.

I agree. The recommendation is fishy, unless the tank was beyond VIP (annual inspection) date. You can't see, much less be able to tell the burst disc is in need of attention, on casual inspection. It's a routine fix, that comes at the same time as other, more readily identified, service. Kudos to E'split for the offer. Making an otherwise smelly recommendation right with good Customer Service. Sometimes you'll see a tank leaking out of the burst disc area and this is usually due to corrosion somewhere in that housing.

Takes only a few minutes to take apart, clean, replace as needed and put back together....usually no charge.

Good Luck,
