Default Big Snapper

I am a student at the University of Alabama and haven't had time until this summer to get certified to dive. I got certified and stayed on my uncle'c case for a week or two until we finally got the weather we wanted and headed to Billy Goat Hole for a day of spearfishing. Tuesday, August 14th, we headed due south to find some vis and dive an oil rig so I could kinda get used to being in the open water with a speargun and using my new equipment. After that quick dive to around 115 feet, we headed to the numbers in search of snapper. After a few dives, we had a mess of good snapper between myself, my uncle, and two friends Jeremy and Brad (he was also a newbie).

Three days later, Friday the 14th, my uncle called and wanted to go again. He didn't have to ask twice. Me, him, Andrew, and Mike (two other friends) headed out this time. Seas weren't quite as perfect as they were Tuesday, but I managed to get my biggest snapper to date and some decent triggers. We ended up with 8 snapper, about 8 triggers, and 4 black snapper. Needless to say, anytime he needs a dive partner, I'll quicklymake that drive home from T-Town.

Nice!!! Those are some big 'uns! First time with a speargun and you boated some big fish! From the pics it looks like good shot placement, too. Way to close out the season!
