Default Report for Largo (Tampa/St. Pete) 9 Apr 09

Got up at 3 am to catch some snook due to the full moon. Took an hour at least to catch bait. Saw a couple of huge snook around a dock light, but couldn't get them to eat. Caught a lot of trout throughout the morning up until 11 am. Got 4 legal ones between 2 of us.

Decided to try for snook at a local pass one last time and got there about 20 min. before the tide change. I caught one snook at about 23" and lost another bigger one (gill plate cut the leader) and once the tide stopped moving the snook stopped biting.

The big push of fish with tarpon, cobia, kings and tripletail hasn't started yet. Water's still a little cool due to the cold front last week, should peak in about 2 weeks though so LET'S GO FISHIN'!
