Mississippi Specks!

Saturday, 11JULY

When the water isn't clear, just find a grass bed and drop some live croaker....almost guaranteed specks!

We hit some grass beds off the Mississippi coast, not too far from Bay St Louis. Live shrimp produced a few, but the live croaker just lit them up!

We had 4 throwbacks. out of the keepers, only 2 were under 18 inches.

-37 Specks

- 1 Flounder

- 1 Jack Crevalle

good job.......im out of pascagoula and the gras beds over here just not like they use to be....nice mess of fish

Bluffman,

You and I conversed on a different post I put up a couple of months ago. I'm over in Diamondhead...posted the topic on a trip to Taylor reef with my Wife.

But anyway, the grassbeds are just now coming back. If you can remember where they were before Katrina....start checking around them again. These were completely destroyed, and most people do not know they are back yet here.

ok,,,,,,,yes i do remember now...........thanks for the update on the grass beds.....ill have a look next time im out......if you ever want to make a trip, let me know....
