Default Personal best striper, Lake Weiss, Al

My buddy Glen called me to say the stripers were hitting, so My dog Sadie and I high tailed it up river to check it out. I caught a 38 lb striper. This was my largest fresh water fish ever. I caught her on bait casting rod and 12lb line. I was using a Gay Blade type lure I buy on Ebay.
Glen caught 8 with his biggest 25 lb.
Our friend Wayne caught several srripers, and a big Flathead Cat that probably weighed 30#.

Jason will straighten up your pics when he sees this.

Congratulations on your pb striper! Didn't you have a personal best last year?

And what did the flathead eat?

Actually about 6 weeks ago I caught a big stripe, but didn't have a scale, so I estimated it at 25-30 lbs. After weighing this fish, I believe the prior fish was almost as bigas this 38lb fish.
The prior fish was on 8# line, and this was on 12# line. I may need to go to 20#.
