Default choctawhatchee river @ hwy 20 bridge

Got to fish a bass tourney over on Choctawhatchee river in 3 weeks. We will put in at the hwy 20 bridge. I have never fished over there. Where is a good place to start fishing and what type of lures/baits work well?? I have a 2002 SeaArk 16' bass boat with a 40hp so I won't be able to run too far (the boat is in the PFF for sale section). Any info would help. The tourney is on June 21st, nice and hot! I am fishing in a club from out at Solutia. Any input would be much appreciated!!

thanks

David

Default RE: choctawhatchee river @ hwy 20 bridge

I've only fished out there once....so far. The ramp......if you can call it that SUCKS!!!!! I hope its been fixed. There's no ramp that I saw....all sand bank. As for the fishing, I only caught 1 on a black/blue jig in some stumps. The banks where I fished dropped into deep water pretty fast. The graph showed some decent stumps on the ledges. I would locate and fish them. I might go out tomorrow. If I do and have anything worth posting, I will. BTW I'll most likely put in at Black Creek because the ramp is better.

Good luck
