Fished Dead River 8:00 til 1:00. Water about a foot from best level plus dirty and out in the swamp in many places. Only two other boats arrived up in the morning.

Perfect day for fishing but the bite was very slow all morning. We managed to box 22 various types of bream including shellcrackes and two big bluegills. The female gill had eggs and the male red belly peed on my partner when he was removing the hook. By the end of next week maybe the bite will be in full swing with the upcoming full moon. Shellcracker bedding time!

Bait used - earthworms on the bottom in 9 to 10 ft water. Did not catch a fish with crickets. We fished just in Dead River. Never made it to the big river or down below Daniels Slough.

Forgot camera so no pictures. Saw one granddaddy Mocassin sunning himself on a log. Water temp down to 64. Last warm spell pushed it up to 69/71.

Got these suckers cleaned and ready for a fish fry this evening.
