We pulled the trigger to go to the rigs yesterday morning and to return today. i am glad we decided to go, the wind have been pretty bad as of late, but not on Wednesday.
![]() I found this hard to handle, but it seas like this all the way out, I am not a speed junky, so held and solid speed of 30 MPH all the way. ![]() Still in shock, ![]() This is my Brother Mark, always prepared, just waiting on that strange wave to get us wet. It never came until the trip home (read on) ![]() We got to the rigs about 3:30 PM and during the first troll around this one, Mark had a stretch 25 on and the reel goes bonkers. He starts the fight, I see him hanging on to the rod beside the motors. (note to self here.... Remember to loosen the drag before starting the troll) he just about gets his a$$ handed to him by a shark about 5 Ft. I try to get the new lure back and "pop goes the line" First new lure gone:banghead We make another round with nothing. we decide to throw a few surface plugs at the AJ's. We catch and release about 5-6 of these and we get the bright idea to do a little "jiggin" for something BIGGER.:banghead:banghead:banghead:banghead Four new Jigs later, we decide this spot is getting expensive. we move on to the next stop. ![]() man, what a wonderful night! the Support boat was there so we hung back aways. The BFT were busting all around, so we went along with the school and caught several dozen before we decided to try another rig to see if there were any YFT around. Nope, just more BFT than you could even think about counting. I attempted several timed to get a jig below the BFT with NO luck:banghead. We had the expected 1/2 BFT's come to the boat after the sharks had their way with them. The ride home SUCKED! Not a "normal wave pattern in the gulf!:doh Super SLOPPY and confused seas. Glad we had the rain gear in the boat and this time we were "smart" enough to wear it. we would have been SOAKED! Final tally on the BFT was "about" 41 and 1/2. That counting 5 tuna heads...... Mother nature had a short "window of opprunity" for this trip, It was great until about 0500 this morning when we dumped the trolling plans and decided to head in. Later, Jim

It sure was pretty yesterday afternoon butI had a feeling it would get sloppy in the evening. Sounds like constant action though, good job.
