Well I think Im more tired now after swinging a sledge hammer for the last two days than fishing the tournament this past weekend for two beautiful days on the gulf. Overall the tournament was a blast. Thanks to Capt. Matt for a great trip and successful trip overall. The Water was blue blue blue. More Fishy in some spots than others. We had the wahoo stacked up in the box like chord wood with the biggest a little shy of earning some pay dirt. Congrats to all who found there way to success. Ill have to say that my favorite moment of the two days was at the end of the day on sunday about 4 just before we reeled em up some small yellowfin started busting the surface around the boat and jumping out of the water. The kicker is that this one tuna jumped just off the port bow towards us about 8 feet or so out of the water and had the tail of what ever he just ate sticking out of his mouth still kicking his tail as if he was trying to swim through the air. With the sun to our back in the tunas face and all of this happening about 15-20 ft off the side of the boat with every color gleaming off of the fish which was probably 50-60lbs or so. Not a huge tuna but what a great ending to a great tournament. Could go many more trips without ever catching that moment again. I think all who fished the tourny would agree the good lord blessed us with perfect conditions and lots of great memories.
