Game Day Slow Day Last Saturday

Set out Saturday morning around 6:00. We headed to the Spur, Roff's showed blue water, ran past the nipple, 131 and found 1 small patch of grass with bait and chickens on it, nothing bigger. We keep the pace to the Spur, when we arrived the water was blue green, worked the area for a while with no luck, headed towards the Steps looked for a temp and color change that was showing on Roff's, nothing happened on the way, turned toward the Elbow, 4 to 5 miles SE of the Elbow lots of bait, small Bo Bo's or BF's, starboard rigger slams out of the clip, we could not raise the fish back to the bait. Pulled the bait in and the tail of the Bally was wrapped up on the hook, best we could tell was a good slam and dash from a bill, no teeth marks on the bait. Headed in at 5:00 with big smiles from a great day on the water, nothing in the fish box. A good safe day on the water is all we can ask for, everthing else is a bonus.
