Default Tusday the 19th

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Tuesday 19 Jan; what a beautiful day it was!!!! Wanting to take advantage of the seas and go to the edge?..we decided to make a short day of it to do some much needed trailer work as well as take Walt?s son Luke fishing. We stayed relatively close in and fished the I-10 rubble. From the first drop it was fish on. We jigged for 4 hours strait and I can honestly say I probably had 10 retrieves with out a fish. The problem was NONE OF THEM WERE LEGAL!!!!! At one point a shark came to grab some lunch so we ran to the Pete tide, all small AJ?s so we ran back to the rubble until flipper came. The actions was so fast that we hardly took any pics here are a few.<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">We caught 5 Red Snapper 10lbs and over<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">A Ton of AJ?s and one keeper.<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><o></o><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">All in all great day on the GOM Luke had a blast and the trailer work got done. Great report and pics. Your butterfly jigs sure beat my bucktails! We fished the rubble piles nos. 1,2, and three. The day before a friend of mine caught three keeper gags at the rubble. We had high hopes but nada on the groupers. We might have started too early. Caught some grouper later in the day but about five miles further out. From your report I am going to have to use the butterfly jigs a little more.

Nice fishing the jigs in the winter when the fish are hungry and the toothy cridders are not around as much. Bet you guys are sore!

Thanks for the report. June will come around eventually!
