Default Offshore PCB - 9/5

Well, in spite of half the crew bailing the night before, decided to fish anyway. With just myself and buddy Nick, we headed out about 5. Fished between 130 and 210' and caught fish at every stop. Final tally of fish kept was 6 scamp, one gag, 2 ajs, lots of beeliners (some big ones), etc. Great day with great weather. Fish caught on dead bait, pinfish, and jigs - anything seemed to work. Lost some good fish, including by far the biggest AJ to a couple of sharks under the boat, but ended up with a solid cooler for 2 guys. Need a more reliable crew for next time and we could have really had a great day.

Randy

Good mess of fish there. Nothing wrong w/ a bunch of scamp in the cooler.

Just curious, is beeliners the same as mingo?

Yes, they are beeliners on the East Coast and Mingos here.

Pretty cooler of meat.

I've always wondered why us fishermen can't call anything by its proper name. A lot of confusion, arguments, citations and false record applications could have been spared. VERMILLION SNAPPER! (I still call them beeliners too)

Actually we have always called them beeliners in PC and it seems people in Destin call them either name. Not sure where the line starts where they are called mingos instead of beeliners.
