Land&Sea charters Snapper with a bonus 7/4
Started off running to some live bottom about 8 miles SE of Pensacola pass for a few snapper. Of course when we got there and got set up I look to the north and see the giant thunder head building and told my guys from Oregon that we didnít have long before we had to start heading back toward the pass. We only ARS fished for maybe 20-30 min caught 6 and 1 lane snapper. So we point the boat NW and head toward the pass as I got closer I see the storm is just sitting over down town so I decided to troll for some kings around the buoys. First line out caught a nice spanish and start to head to another buoy. Well what do we see lying beside the buoy but a nice 50lb cobia. Backed away from the buoy as I needed to rig a rod with the old 3 prongs of fury and a croaker. As I pull back to the buoy I told my guys from Oregon that if I hook this fish it would be a Chinese fire drill!! I pitched the croaker up next to the buoy and immediately it comes to the top with old brown right behind it. The cobe eats and runs toward the buoy and I yell at the guys to hold on so I can run around the buoy or the fish is going to break us off. A 35 min fight and Scott catches a fish of a life time as they said they have only caught fish as big as our bait!! Happy 4th of JULY.
