Just returned from Iraq AGAIN! I took theweek to get the boat, trailer, and truck ready to head out to blow the Cobwebs? and Love bugs out of the console, since putting it in storage in Feb.Michelle and I headed out of Shoreline and played in the bay for a few to make sure the thermostats, water pumps, electronics were in working order to head out the pass. We decided all was a go and lucked out to find the Live Bait boat waiting. We pointed towards the Oriskany area and ran @ 35 Knots,Sun in our faces and no worries about rough seas. About 2 miles from the Oriskany I noticed a color change and weeds and decided to drop two lines out and hit a 10 Lb Mahi in ten min. so the trip was a success immediately. We fished a live bottom @ the Oriskany and hit a shark, several short Gags, Scamp, AJ's and saw a huge shark deep but was not interested in my chum slick. We decided to troll out and head back towards the pass where we had a BFT hit but threw the hook. Noticed starboard engine was running a little hot so pulled in the lines and headed back. All in All a great trip on the water and a great Grilled Mahi Dinner.
The little one is Thomas, he inspects all that leaves and returns!
Tight Lines, Hecklures' |
