Fine Fishin On Feb 9

Capt. Hooked and fiance headed out of P'cola Pass about 8 am Saturday, Feb 9. Beautiful day! A few rollers going out ,but not bad. Stopped at the Russian Freighter to catch some Ruby Reds for bait. Headed out to the Edge. Landed 3 nice red groupers ABOUT 15 LBS(CAPT, ONE AND FIANCE TWO! GO REEL WOMEN!), could only keep two though, of course. Caught two fighting AJ's(one a piece)about 15 lbs too that gave us some hardy runs(our shoulders are sore today!).We hooked another that got off just below the boat! Snagged two more fish, one broke us off in the rocks, another got off...felt like groupers. The Capt. caught a nice scamp. Threw back a few snapper(have to run from those guys,asyou know). All and all a great day fishing! It was our first time out since Fall, so we were please! See our pics below!

Those are some nice red groupers. It is funny but we caught a ton of ruby redlips at the edge the same day and fished them all day with no results. I guess we were just not on a good rock. Just curious about your tackle. Do you fish a standard long fishfinder rig with mono or flourocarbon?

80lb mono main line, 16oz egg lead, 125lb mono 6-9ft long, and 13/0 circle
