Default 100-130ft of water

Well between being sick and work I havent been offshore since early dec. With my birthday today and another surgery on friday this past sunday was my only chance to go. It was supposed to be four people ended up just being a buddy and I. Long story short......I did nothing but jig, prob caught 40+ AJ's and 30+ Snapper ALL of which where 24" or better. Damn things are huge during the winter. Also a few short grouper to boot. Caught two AJ's at a time, 2 twice. Never even touched a peice of bait. My buddy used bait all day and did well. The only fish that we kept was a nice AJ that hit the jig after a smaller one. Even though we didnt fill the box, my arms and shoulders are sore from all the fighting. Rod almost got yanked out of my hand a few times. You cant beat a day of fishing when you get worn out just from reeling in fish!:hotsun

also a few reds from the friday before.

I'm calling BS on your snapper count. Last time I heard the fisheries service said there were only 9 left in the world.

Great catch though!

That is a lot of quality red snappers on a jig. Were you using the butterfly jig or something that you made? Great report.
