I started buying Shimano in '88 and still have the original reel that has caught countless fish. I have only had to overhaul two TLD 25's that were bought in '92, thathave caught decent sized Tuna, several Blue Marlin, one 325-350# and a number of other fish.I still have some Penn's, but whenthe drags go bad I replace them w/ Shimano. I still use Penn, but buy Shimano. I would buy Penns used at the right price, so don't feel bad about your Penns.
